Mission:  To strengthen families through continuing education, leadership development and volunteer community service.

To accomplish this mission the Extension Homemakers are given the opportunity to attend workshops and lessons on various topics.  One member from each county club is encouraged to attend and then return to their club and share what they learned.  This coming year will bring a new way of holding these workshops.  Fall and Spring Homemakers' Retreats are scheduled each providing three different workshops for homemakers to attend on one evening.

For developing leadership, most clubs takes their turn at organizing and presenting one of the organizations annual events such as the Make & Take Craft Workshop, the Open Class Exhibits at the fair and the organization's Achievement Program at the end of the year.  The "For Kids Only" Fashion Show held each year during the fair is now being planned by The Country Friends Extension Homemakers Club.

An array of community service projects are as diverse as the club themselves.  Some past projects include: raising funds for the Community Center Building Fund, knitting hats and gloves for those in need, donating toys for the Christmas Toy Store and teddy bears to the local police force to help comfort children they encounter.
